Impromptu Haul... Charlotte Russe Earrings

A Girls Best Friend: Jewelry, Jewelry, Jewelry. . .

So, on my way to my Mom's house in Limerick, PA, I decided to stop at the King of Prussia Mall for what I thought would be a quick Mrs. Fields cookie run. It was then that my auntie decided she needed a pair of earrings from Charlotte Russe. "Don't shop," I told myself, silently at least twenty times as I walked into the store. I headed straight to the jewelry with my aunt, absolutely no cash in hand, and credit cards sealed away at home. I absolutely knew that I wasn't going to purchase a thing! But then it hit me! The bright pink sign: Jewelry 2 for $10.
**Now understand this, I have been a fair weather fan of Charlotte Russe for years. However, their jewelry has been something that has never quite tickled my fancy. It's never been my style, as I usually take to more unique or extremely fashion forward pieces.**
Nonetheless, I took a look at the selection, still with no intentions of buying anything. The first pair that caught my eyes were the over sized mod style, black and gold, ditsy hoop earrings. I did a double take when I saw them! iLoved them!!!!!! So now I'm telling myself I have to find just one more pair so that I can get the deal, right? Wrong!!!! I scanned the wall for another pair of 'not your ordinary earrings' and that's when I came across the over sized square studs. I just had to have these gold toned beauties. But as I'm picking them up, my eyes noticed a tri-pack of colored square studs. There was a pair in pink, aqua and fruit punch pink! So, now I'm holding three pair of totally GLAM earrings. I just need one last pair! I scanned the wall and it literally took me seconds to noticed the huge, mod inspired iridescent rhinestone hoops! GLAM HEAVEN!!!! iLove Love LOVE this pair and they are my fave of the day. Take a look at the still shots and then the very short video haul I did on the items. I ended up spending about nineteen dollars and walked away with a smile that couldn't fit in my bag! If you want some of these looks, hurry over to charlotterusse.com and stack your cart! I'll be online shopping tonight as well.
I'll post more pics tomorrow so you can get a detailed look at the jewels!!

Bands Will Make Her Dance (headbands that is)

Bands Will Make Her Dance
Head Bands That Is...

A few days ago I shared a Deepa Gurnani headband with you Glam Girls in the Sundays Best Glam piece. I immediately fell in love with the headband and it was definitely my favorite part of the look. Just as I prepared to make an impulse ($71) purchase to score one of my own, a glamorously smart idea popped into my head! I couldn't believe that I had never thought of this sooner. So there it is! I have a GIY (Glam It Yourself) project that I'll be sharing with you all soon. I'm headed to AC Moore with a phone full of pictorial inspiration and a budget of $12. Let's Glam this baby up! =)

Sundays Best: Game w/ the Guys

He loves me, is probably what you're telling yourself as you stand in front of your mirror getting ready to head to your beau's house for the night. In his world, no Sunday is complete without a little football! Obviously you want something light, airy and free so that you can join in on the fun, cheering for your favorite team (EAGLES of course)! So lets cook up a GLAMorously simple idea.
First things first: Reach into your closet and pull out your favorite skinny jeans! Not only are skinny jeans quick and super versatile, but they're apparently a favorite pick amongst guys! So your guy will definitely be happy you chose them.
This look is easy. So you don't want to zoom in too much on the play by play! Just have fun with it. Throw on a top with a funky print or pattern. This way you're look is already done and all you have to do is accessorize. If you're comfortable, go for the cropped top! It's flirty and fun and a quick way to land a touchdown! =) Accessorizing should be easy. I usually throw on a ton of bangles, some over sized hoop earrings and a headband! Speaking of which....
My favorite part of this particular look is definitely the headband! This Deepa Gurnani piece demands attention and is uber beautiful! When considering the fact that it is just a headband, you may be reluctant to dish out the $71 it's gonna cost you to rock this. But celebrities have fallen in love with the Gurnani headband line, and so have I. So, I'll be doing a piece sometime this week showing you how to get this look for less!

So, church is over! And you have a few free moments to change in something comfy before meeting your best friend downtown for brunch. The spot is your local fave and its very relaxed. You throw your hair into a messy bun, and start working on an afternoon look for less!

First things first: You already know that you'll be layering your choices with your leather motorcycle jacket so right now you're just thinking comfort! Not a problem! The first thing you're going to need with that dark leather jacket is a pop of color! The jacket has a snug fit so go with something opposite, like an easy or loose fit. I chose pink because its fun and funky and still super right for fall! The H&M top has a bit of  a tie-dye affect, if you will. So its very easy to match with a bottom.

Moving right along: You can basically choose any bottom you want with a top like this. But since its early fall and we still have a chance to bare ankles (if you'd like) why not have some fun with a cropped trouser or legging? I decided on a River Island cropped pant in a rose pink shade which absolutely brought the GLAM to this look! Have fun with your bottom. It's not as warm as before so you'll definitely want to have your legs covered, but covering can be fun! Right?

Finally: Shoes are always the most important part of any look (in my opinion). So when deciding on a shoe, you want to think logically and fashionably. You don't want to settle in either area. If you're already having fun with your color scheme, why not keep the fun going! The Dr. Marten boot is the perfect touch because it's comfortable enough for you to rush downtown in, yet cute enough to make this outfit Glam Guru approved!

*If you're going with a heel alternative, definitely break up your color palette. Don't do the same color as your top for a change. Try a mint green or nude basic pump and you'll definitely turn heads!

Your look is complete once you toss on a necklace, throw a cute clutch under your arm and gloss your lips! I thought it would be fun to throw in this super cute ASOS clutch because it's been a fave of mine for a while! Voila!

The great thing about this outfit is that its super functional, so no matter where you're having brunch, you can move at ease and still look amazingly GLAMorous. It's also made up of quality classic pieces, like the trousers and the leather jacket, which can both be used time and time again without anyone noticing the rerun. And it's also totally affordable. The entire look (including makeup and accessories) can be achieved for around $300! For looks that will last all season, that's definitely a great deal!

Sundays Best: Glam to Church

So, it's 9 am and you're staring into your full length mirror in a towel admiring your fresh face. The only thing on your mind is what to wear to church! Think no more. Here's a look that will keep you warm, feeling styled up and can be easily manipulated to fit YOUR budget!

First things first: Remember that its FALL! Fall is all about playing with layers, textures and colors. So don't be afraid to try things you wouldn't normally pull off during Summer months! You want to start with a piece that is classic and can be layered with many different textures, and build your look around THAT piece! I started with the classic leather motorcycle jacket. It's fun, its modern (yet an all time style fave) and it's very easy to build on. You don't want to start with anything with too much of a defined look, as it will limit your pairing capabilities!

*Find a jacket that is light enough to toss over your arm if you have to take it off, yet heavy enough to challenge the brisk morning air you're sure to experience on your church commute.

Moving right along: Once you have your jacket in mind, you're ready to make a focal point of your outfit. Today, it's all about the DRESS! You'll want a dress that is bold enough to stand on its own but would still compliment the jacket. For this look, I recommend playing on prints. Animal fabrics like cheetah and leopard are not exactly the look we're going for though! Keep it abstract! Doing this will give you a look that doesn't scream FAD ATTACK! With a motorcycle jacket (or any shorter length leather jacket) you'll want a dress length that is at least just above your knee.

Finally: Now you can focus on your shoe! Find one that is calm and cute. You don't want to overdo it, after all you're headed to church this morning! The last thing you want is to look like you rolled out of bed and never changed out of last nights outfit. So simple and muted is the best effect for this option. I chose a pair of classic chunky heel pumps, which you can always find during the Autumn seasons because they are definitely a fall staple!

Throw in a clutch and a couple of bangles and you're ready for church honey! =)

But, don't stay too long... You have a brunch date at noon...

Sundays Best GLAM

Get up! It's Sunday! Some of us Glam Girls like to call this the BEST day of the week! It's the one day of the week that you can literally get away with doing whatever you want! So, why not look good doing so. Stay tuned for a couple of looks that will have you putting your Sundays BEST GLAM forward! Lets go!

Kim Kardashian: Styles a Blazing!

Say what you want about Kim K but she has proven time and time again that her style can not be questioned! She brings a sense of Glam with every outfit, be it shorts and a tank or a couture gown. She has coined the blazer look, one we all could take a few style notes from. After all, Autumn is here and we are probably all in need of some wardrobe TLC!

Season changes are never about packing away one aspect of your wardrobe and replacing it with another! Instead, smart girlies like Kardashian are busy filling in their closets with pieces that are season friendly and complimentary to those all season favorites! One piece that is a definite fall fashion essential is the boyfriend blazer. Though some girlies, like myself, make this garment an all year gem, fall weather is perfect for taking a simple tank to the next level by adding our fashion fave: the blazer!

There are many different blazer styles and some are definitely better suited for particular body types. The rules of fashion say that your blazer should button and you should have the ability to raise your arms without any snugging or pulling for the perfect fit! The rules of GLAM, however, say that there is nothing wrong with a fitted blazer, hugging onto your hips when paired with the right pieces! (And Kim L will second that notion!) Styles like traditional boyfriend (hip length with a loose fit) should essentially be paired with a more fitted bottom garment to give your total look some balance and a touch of femininity. Try a pair of knit leggings or a super skinny jean, throw on a bright tee and printed scarf for a pop of color and you've got yourself a Kardashian approved look! Shorter blazer lengths, which are often cropped to your mid torso, can be paired with mini dresses, a fit and flair jean or even shorts (weather permitting, throw on a pair of opaque tights under your shorts for a flawless fall look). For a balanced wardrobe, be brave with your color selections! While having a black and a navy blazer is essential, trying other colors as well can certainly give your wardrobe some versatility and make for a wider overall variety of options! Nudes and browns are fall must-haves, while pinks, yellows and greens also work well with the season! Options are really endless with blazers! They're every Glam girls fave! Just ask Kim!

They Be Wed, What?

You may have already heard that the self proclaimed "good catch" Gloria of Basketball Wives LA has finally gotten "caught"! We all witnessed her and LA Clippers player Matt Barnes supposedly end their dramatic love affair last season on the show. At the opening of this season, the two had supposedly rekindled their love and were trying to move forward!

Well apparently, abscence made their hearts grow fonder as the two secretly tied the knot last week (supposedly September 12) in a tiny little historic chapel in Las Vegas! So now girlies everywhere are left wondering, why no huge wedding? Why no big dress? And why so private?

We aren't sure what their reasons for choosing to have such a secluded hitching were! But hopefully we'll get a sneak peek of the ring in the upcoming Rolling Out issue, on which Gloria and hubby are gracing the cover! Maybe there is a such thing as happily ever after in Basketball Wife Nation...

The Shorter The Hair, The Sweeter The Do?

Tia Mowry, the sultry actress that has graced every channel from Disney to BET has been recently become one of reality TV's gems. New mom, wife and most notably Melanie of BET's THE GAME, this is one girl who has never let her style take a nap, and much less her hair. She keeps us guessing with funky up dos, long tresses and even the sometimes edgy bob cut. But earlier this week, she showed us a new side of her, proving once and for all that beauty is FAR beyond hair. Tia looks gorgeous! Her skin is glowing and her smile is still as bright as the sunrise! Lets take a trip down memory lane, or shall we say HAIR lane?

 (Tia's flawless new look)

(Before this look, she gave us shoulder length beauty on THE GAME)

(Prior to that, Tia flaunted long, dark waves)

(Tia went short for a season of THE GAME)

(Thing One rocked a long bangs and a tapered back before THE GAME aired)

(A few years back Tia kept her long locs maintained flawlessly with a natural dark color)

(Aha! We all remember where it all started! Sister Sister, curly sue!)

Glam Guide 101

It may come as no surprise that the infamous bejeweled hoop earrings, most notably made famous by a few basketball wives (and unmistakably the root of an argument on a reunion show- Meka and Eveyln) have yet to vanish from glam cams everywhere. Month after month I am seeing girlies everywhere rocking these urban chic jewels, sometimes bigger than their hair! Probably the most prominent source for these jewels, POParazzi's online boutique offers something fresh, modern and undeniably HOT!

These earrings surfaced to the general public a few years back and have been nonstop on HOT alerts ever since. Bold and statement making are two ways to describe them. But if you don't believe me, have a look for yourself.

This weeks Glam Guide feature goes to POParazzi, a jewel boutique! From Amburrr Alert to City Love, designer Amber Kessee keeps us wanting more GLAM! Her pieces embody confidence and individuality, giving you something that no normal accessory store could offer. This is jewelry that is oozing style, yet completely functional. iLovePOParazzi.com offers everything from head pieces to blinged out rosary. The prices on ear GLAM range from twenty five dollars up to eighty five. There are a few customizable pieces that are bit more, but overall the site is very Gucci Purse friendly! I have about ten pair and I'm certified ADDICTED! If you don't know, now you know!!!!
