House of Glam... FAB or FAD?

Fall is upon is girlies.. And as you're faced with the many life changing decisions of your typical season swaps, I am here to spring yet another major question upon you. FAB OR FAD? You be the fairy glam-mother...

Ombre Hair is slowly making its way back on the scene in hair galaxies everywhere. I first stumbled across the killer concept while online shopping for new hair inspiration and DIY tutorials on Youtube. I wasn't surprised to see that the style had flooded the tutorials section and that girlies everywhere had been trying to replicate this uber funky look.  Now although the ombre look can be accomplished on many different color scales, I have particularly fallen in love with a few particular hues. Not to say that I am biased, but, well I am. There is something about the bronze esque blonds and deep crimsons that give me Fall Fashion FAB!

But I just have to to know- before I go dashing into my salon chair, hair dye and twitpics in hand, is this just another tired Glam FAD sure to run its course and expire within a few over rated months. Or has this gorgeous fall trend been sent down to us from the fairy Glam Mothers above to be Glam FAB for us all?

Now before you go ringing in your verdict, let me give you a bit of background on this not so new look. First, the term ombre is one that most fashonistas will be very much familiar with, as it is typically used to describe a dye effect in which fabric is colored gradually from light to dark. You may notice, however, that in the more modern trend of Ombre HAIR the color usually gradiates in reverse effect, usually being darker at the roots and gradually lightenening towards the tips. Celebrities and hair gurus everywhere have been using the technique in coloring hair for decades. And every now and then the trend seems to come bursting through magazine covers, making its mark as one of the most sought after coloring styles of the times. In 2011 Cosmopolitan Magazine noted the end of the said FAD right around the time that Jessica Beal called it quits with her infamous dye job and went back to basics. You may also remember Ashlee Simpson and Sarah Jessica Parker bailing out on their faddy ombre locs last year.

So now, with the Ombre trend back on the horizon, do we embrace it with open arms as we do all things FAB? Or do we kick it to the curb like a pair of too small- non designer shoes? With celeb girlies like Keke Palmer rocking the technique so flawlessly, it almost makes the decision one that is impossible to make. Not to mention, the beautiful Malaysia Pargo of Basketball Wives who prances around the new season of the reality TV show boasting flawlessly died locs (natural or extended, we'll discuss that later). It almost makes me want to shout FAB! So as I contemplate making the somewhat controversial appointment with my color stylist this upcoming week, I need you to be the Fairy Glam Mothers you are and weigh in! Help!!!! Is this FABulously necessary for fall or a FADdy trend waiting to end?
