Glam Girl Check In and a Little Tea ;-)

Hey there Glam Girls! Hoping you all are well and still fabulously glam'd after that little touch of Sandy we had to deal with. My thoughts and prayers were with all of my Glam Girl subscribers, readers, friends etc. So of course, it's my duty to bring you the Glam, even amidst a super storm recovery. And honey, let me tell you- this is some TEA you'll have to sip slow. LOL

Most of us watched last night for another dramatic episode of Basketball Wives LA.**If your cable was out, I'll be sure to let you know how to catch it on repeat!** Let me tell you, just as I was beginning to think that the show was a haux full of dinner dates, dramatic drink meet ups and constant squabbles over whether or not Tacky (ass) Jackie is or isn't crazy (and believe me, she is), the show came back with a boom! In true BBWLA fashion, the girls met up at Brooke Bailey's pool party, followed by a more dramatic meet up at a mixology class where it seemed as if Brooke preferred to MIX with Jackie (or anyone who would 'shoot her the fade' per say)! LOL.

Well that was one hell of a mix session, although VHI chose not to air it in an attempt to fulfill their promise to clean up the violent content on the weekly reality show. But nothing compared to the twitter war that took place after the show. See, apparently, what we didn't see is that Laura Govan and Bambi (wait, who?) had not exactly cleared up their beef on the show. Bambi, apparently still taken aback by Laura's inability to get along with Jackie, just couldn't leave well enough alone and felt the need to take the drama to twitter. Surprised? Nope. As if she hasn't starved for enough attention this season, this broad is asking for more.

****Sidebar- did ya'll see her acting all phony in the middle of the Brooke and Jackie fight? Throwing in shade every chance she can get? Brooke two stepped right over that nonsense! Way to go Brooke!****

Anyway, take a look at what went down on twitter:

During the scene on BBWLA where Draya and Bambi shared a brief lesbian encounter (or a kiss) Govan had this to say-
Now of course, in true Bambi (wait, who?) fashion, the self proclaimed rapper just couldn't take the "disrespect" sitting down. She had to pull the claws out on this one-

A bit much? Yeah, I agree.. But it get worse, trust. Laura came back with a witty and catty rebuttal-

LOL. Way to call the "EXTRA" out on her extra roll on the show. I mean, could you be any more irrelevant? Wait, then again, she could always be Jackie. LOL. Anyways, keep reading-

As always, Malaysia steps in, I guess trying to make peace-

I guess it's safe to say Malaysia will never learn her place. But the beef ended off like this-

Bwahahaha! I guess she told her! And I think we all learned a valuable lesson here; don't get buck on twitter unless you're actually in the credits! LOL =)

Fashion Smack Down: Celeb Boutique VS For the Fabulous

Hey Glam Girls! So, as you know, I've been shopping around for some dress options to take along to Vegas in a few weeks. Just when I thought I had found the perfect NYE dress for the perfect price, my eyes stumbled upon this. www.Forthefabulous.com
Its a website very similar to Celeb Boutique where I found the 'Carly' dress that my heart had set on wearing for New Years Eve in Vegas. Like Celeb Boutique, this site offers celebrity inspire pieces made completely affordable to the every day girl. When I located the same exact dress (just happening to be checking out the site for something else) priced at least fifty dollars lower, I almost lost my mind! I decided to do a tiny little review on both sites to see which ones measure up to my slightly high expectations. Lets see. . .

Upon first entering either of the sites, you quickly notice the stream of celeb pics scrolling across the screen. Glam Girls like Kim K, JLo, Beyonce and Amber Rose are seen rocking the dresses that served as the inspiration for these said replicas. Celeb Boutique boasts a very tech savvy home page, with tons of pictures blinking in and out of the screen, while FTF (For the Fabulous) brings us subtle simplicity with about four celebrity photos.

You'll notice that Celeb Boutique has lots of tabs at the top of the screen. You can select to view all dresses, just body con dresses, skirts, tops or even choose to shop by celeb. This site gives you options to categorize your search while FTF allows you to choose from dresses, skirts or sale items only. Celeb Boutique offers jewelry, shoes, bags and belts as well. The site even offers HAIR EXTENSIONS. *side eye ya'll* The site offers a Hall of Fame tab, where shoppers are able to see real people wearing dresses purchased on the site, just in case you needed a push to purchase. FTF as you can imagine does NOT offer any of this. Simply dresses and skirts.

So where are you going to buy from? Celeb Boutique you say? Well, not so fast. When all the bells and whistles are silenced, it all comes down to one simple thing... "what you twerkin with?" LOL Translation- PRICE!

I did a few comparisons in reference to pricing on the sites and while FTF might have dropped the ball on everything else, it slam dunked on Celeb Boutiques price points. Take a look:

Lets start out with a dress we're all familiar with. My tentative NYE look option. For the sake of confusion, we'll stick by Celeb Boutique and call it the 'Carly' dress. I noted early on that I was prepared to pay $200 for this dress, as listed on Celeb Boutique. Though the dress has since dropped down to $189 on the site, I would much rather pay the listed $145 for the SAME dress at FTF.

Celeb Boutique Carly $189

FTF Koko Dress $145
Now, lets take a look at another dress both sites offer. Well, because it makes since, we'll call this dress the 'Evelyn'. I'm assuming Celeb Boutique named this the Evelyn because it was spotted on Reality TV star Evelyn Lozada. Evelyn's dress was an Herve Leger bandage which flaunted a tube neckline and bursts of color. This replica does exactly that. . .

Celeb Boutique Evelyn $204

Celeb Boutique Celebrity Photo

FTF Ella $165

FTF Photo Evelyn Lozada

Lastly, lets view two dresses that are similar in context. . .
FTF Nadeen $140

Celeb Boutique Papaya $173

Ok! So Glam Girls, you tell me, which site would you shop at? Keep in mind, these are virtually the SAME dresses and most of them are replicas of other dresses anyway. I haven't purchased from FTF as of yet, but I am certainly going to. I will be sure to feature a review and possibly a haul on the company. But for now, what are your thoughts?

Morning Tea: Who Cheated Who? Kandi VS Miss Lawrence

Last night Derek J and Miss Lawrence, two Atlanta hairstylists turned reality TV stars, hosted a Real Housewives of Atlanta special spilling all the behind the scenes tea of the shows four past seasons. The shade was high and the readings were present as we all watched, waiting for the juicy inside feeds. What none of us were probably expecting, however, was what followed the show on twitter.

Lawrence, formerly introduced to the show by has-been Sheree, went on to spill the tea on what really took place between him and Kandi. Previously, Miss Lawrence introduced viewers to another side of him as he embarked on a journey towards pursuing a career as an openly gay pop artist. Right on board for the ride, Kandi joined in on the project and agreed to mentor him as an artist and help produce his first single entitled 'Closet Freak'. Interestingly enough, America watched as Lawrence turned it up, strong vocals and some dance moves to show. He rocked us all with the catchy tune and we were all excitedly awaiting the release.

When asked what happened after the release, however, Lawrence revealed that our guess was just as good as his. Apparently, he and Kandi had an agreement to split the earnings from the track but she never served up any earnings to Miss Lawrence. Huh? #ShadeHoney Lawrence simply stated that he hadn't heard anything more about the track NOR had he received a red cent of the said earnings. Well honey, Kandi was not about to take that shade sitting down. The singer turned producer took to twitter with a few choice words of her own:

Welp! I think that's enough shade to go around! Kandi is something else honey! And I think it's safe to say she's had her fair share of royalties being mishandled (previously being on the other end of the same situation with Kim's Tardy for the Party track)! Perhaps, she needs to hire Phaedra to step in on these legalities. Hmm... LOL

Did you watch the special? Are you feeling the super trailer? Let me know what you're thinking...

Sunday's Best: All Glam'd Up Celeb Style

October has certainly boasted some fab fall weather. And with minds alike, celebs have given us fall fashion at it's best. So as an ode to the sometimes chilly month of October, lets take a look at some of the most fabulous fall looks of our favorite Glam Girl celebs. . .

This weekend, Toya Wright celebrated her 29th birthday in Miami rocking her seemingly go-to high ponytail hairstyle and a sexy little'fit. Room Service was turned up as the reality tv star also known as Wayne's baby's mama bought in another year of gorg. Take a look:
If you're as in love with this look as I am, you're probably wondering how you can recreate it, huh? Well, that's an easy trick. The top, a BCBGMAXAZRIA can be scored at Zappos.com for just $150 while any mustard pencil skirt can be snatched from your Forever21 and WetSeal stores for about ten bucks! Your favorite black pump will seal the deal on this one!
But Toya was ready for a quick outfit change, apparently as images also surfaced of her rocking another BCBG $138 dress, featuring a scoop neckline and classic bodycon fit. Check it out:
The high ponytail stuck around for look #2

Well, speaking of BCBG- Malaysia Pargo seemes to also be a fan of my self proclaimed go-to line. She was spotted at Howard University's homecoming with plenty of other celebs, rocking this stunning red faux leather BCBG and Louboutin leopard booties. Her look was finished off with long ombre locks swept over her shoulders. Can you say love this look:

If you're wondering how you can recreate this look, don't worry. It's simple! Score the BCBG dress online for just $250 and pair with leopard pumps or booties. For an alternative to the $1600 Louboutins, check out ASOS for a pair of leopard print booties that will run you about $60. Thank me later! =)

Love and Hip Hop's Yandy Smith also turned it up at Howard University's homecoming this month wearing a fitted tropical animal print body con from TopShop. The now $45 dress is said to be sold out, but will probably be restocked soon. If you can't wait, Macys has a look alike for $15 which will surely foot the bill  as well. Take a peek:

Emily B, now known girlfriend of Fab and former Love and Hip Hop cast member took to Instagram this month with a shocking replay of a look she'd already served up last year. Now, I love Emily and I think that her style is impeccable. I appreciate how sensible a shopper she is, and to see a girl wear something twice, creating two totally different looks is definitely something that I applaud. The Alexander McQueen scarf print leggings are definitely sold out but you can find many more reasonable alternatives at sites like GoJane and WetSeal. Pair with a button town blouse, tied just above your waist and you've got yourself a replay. What do you think:
Here is Emily B's most recent take on the McQueen originals...

Paired with this Christian Louboutin shoe- umm, amazing!

And here are the tights in their original state, worn last year while she co-hosted 106 and Park

Speaking of replays- earlier this month, Nene Leakes gave us a bit of a replay while she visited the Wendy Williams show. While Nene was there to talk about her upcoming role as a star of the television show 'The New Normal' most of us couldn't help but focus on her last role as a Housewife of Atlanta. Especially since she was rocking this $1795 embellished shoulder dress from the Lela Rose Resort Runway collection- a dress we have seen before. Marlo Hampton, friend of Leakes, rocked the same dress on the Reunion show of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Now, a dress like this, I don't mind seeing twice. How about you:
Nene Leakes cracking up with Wendy

I can't help but wonder if Nene score this during another 'shop in my closet' moment at Marlo's townhouse

Marlo paired her version of the dress with a tropical Jimmy Choo- FLAWLESS!

Now while I am very impartial to judging who wore it best, I will say this- with Marlo's super long, dark tresses and her amazing shoe choice, she brought something to the dress that I don't think Leakes could have accomplished with her pixie cut. It's very important to make sure that your DRESS compliments your BEAUTY and not vice versa. =)

Since we're in the A, lets shoot right on over to T.I's bday bash earlier this month! The rapper "brought them out, brought them out" just as he rapped earlier in his career. Everyone was there, of course looking fab. But wifey Tiny took the show on this one. Her Roberto Cavali leopard print dress fit her like a glove. Her tummy was tucked flat while her booty looked perfectly rounded. And for once, I was even a fan of her hair. Take a look at Tiny rocking this $800 Cavali:

Tiny looked great, now Kandi on the other hand...

Viva Las Vegas... Can You Help Me Pack?

Hi there Glam Girlies! I'm hoping all is well and that all of you Glam Girls are enjoying yet another long awaited weekend. I've been conformed to the house all day, rearranging furniture, preparing the house to be painted, and most importantly- online shopping! Now, I know what you're thinking. I committed to this spending diet in lieu of my upcoming vacation to Las Vegas, the trip I purchased as a surprise birthday gift for my boyfriend. Well, you're right. I am on a spending diet LIKE NO OTHER! It's been really killing me! My desire to shop has never been greater but I've stuck to my guns and haven't made a single impulse purchase. Now, today will be different. Since Vegas is less than two months away, it's definitely time I start making some vacay friendly packing purchases! That's why I need your help! I'm so torn in between so many different options and I need a Glam Girl like yourself to help me decide!

So, here are the basics of the trip. I figure you'll need this info in order to make some good decisions on what I should take along. First of all, the trip is scheduled for the end of December. We're going to bring in the New Year there so the entire trip will be very festive and holiday inspired. It tends to get a little chilly in Vegas during the Winter months. Especially at night. So I will need some long sleeve and short sleeve options, with plenty of just in case pieces. I plan to do lots of walking. I always do! There is so much to see and I'll be there for an entire week so you can only imagine how many activities I'll more than likely engage in. Comfort is key here, but I absolutely have to look gorgeous! So, lets get started.

For New Years Eve, which is the day we'll arrive, I'm going to need a relaxed outfit perfect for traveling as well as a casual day time fix and a NYE dress. As far as dresses go, I've got my eye on two amazingly designed dresses that I think are sure to steal the show at any New Years Eve party. The question is, which one do I get?
The first is a Celeb Boutique original, neon yellow bandage dress which features long sleeves and an exposed back zipper. This dress will run me about $200. The second is a neon yellow, asymmetrical sleeveless which is incredibly sexy and will only run me $150. You do the math, LOL. But unfortunately, for me this doesn't come down to a battle of the budgets. It's all about style. Which one would be best for a New Years Eve with the stars?

This is the asymmetrical stunning head turner. Retail $150

This is the Celeb Boutique 'Carly' as seen on JLo Retail $200

Now as for frolicking about the day with my hubby on arm, I'll definitely need some comfy cute options to slip into. My concentration is to have looks that will take me from day to night with ease, as I tend to over pack otherwise. Here are a few of the bottoms I'm watching. I'm waiting on your advice for tops.

These are way too cute to pass by... Retail $20

Now we all know that Vegas can boast that typical West Coast heat at times. And regardless of the season, the sun beams are bright, hot and sticky. With that in mind, I thought about some cool and breezy options that will let my legs breathe free while allowing me to be stunningly HOT, to say the least. Rompers are perfect for the job! However, I have plenty of unworn rompers at home. So I'm only going to buy one to take along. What do you think? Both options are from my online fave store- Asos and are very similarly priced.

Hello Africa Romper Retail $33

Computer Love Caged Romper Retail $26

We'll be having dinner out most nights and its very important that I'm wearing an outfit that is both elegant and classy enough to wear to a five star restaurant and also dazzling enough to wear to one of Vegas' hottest clubs. With that in mind, I've spotted a few options that I'm probably going to toss into my suitcase right away! But please help me narrow down the options to just three or four. Wrap dresses are a must, as they are super cute and classy but can still be sexy with just a dash of spice from a pump or such. I also want some bodycon styles, because, well, I'm obsessed with them! LOL

Red Wrap Dress Asos Retail $57

Teal Wrap Dress Retail $50

Navy Wrap Dress Retail $35

I'm in love with these mermaid shaped maxi skirts. And unfortunately, I've already ordered two. But for the sake of style, I'll share them anyway. Any suggestions for tops and accessories?
I first saw this printed maxi at an online Etsy shop! I thought the price was ridiculous so I went on a search of my own! Thank the Glam Gods for Ebay =) Retail $80

I got the one on the left which is an Aztec inspired print and the floral one on the right. Retail $35

Glam Girls I'll be sharing many more pieces with you throughout the next couple of weeks. If there are any pieces you would like to recommend, please feel free to submit them via email. Unfortunately, the comment section is still being repaired so if you're unable to submit your comment below, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email it to me and I will post it for you!
